Youth Impact
Integration of After School CrossFit Programs in Washington County
In the 2023-2024 school year, we have had the opportunity to work alongside two K-8 schools. Brookwood Elementary (Hillsboro School District) and Aloha Huber Park (Beaverton School District) opened their doors and gave their students access to a free quality after school CrossFit program.
A total of fifty (50) student athletes were introduced to a CrossFit® program which:
helped develop their functional strength.
improved their coordination and balance.
taught them how to move their bodies efficiently.
built a love movement because it was fun.
We look forward to continuing this relationship and working alongside these communities next school year. The hope is to continue enhancing the quality of these after school programs and expand into more schools in the 2024-2025 school year.
Building Confidence
In 2023, many of our student athletes participated in their very first local CrossFit competition. CrossFit® and Olympic Lifting are activities that allow our youth the opportunity to step out of their comfort zone, learn to take risks and build the self-confidence they need to believe that they are capable in achieving anything they set their mind to.
Cultivating Values in a Safe and Supportive Environment
Engaging in CrossFit after school programs provides children with a nurturing and secure environment that goes beyond physical fitness. These programs focus on instilling essential life values such as integrity, discipline, teamwork, kindness, and service. By combining the principles of CrossFit with character development, kids not only build their physical strength but also cultivate vital skills that will contribute to their personal growth and well-rounded development. Through a supportive community and expert guidance, these programs aim to shape young minds and bodies, fostering a foundation for a lifetime of healthy habits and positive values.
